Each dessert plate starts as a lump of moist clay that is shaped on the potter's wheel. Once the clay stiffens, the wide foot is trimmed, and the lip is cut and pitched. Colored slip dots and lines were applied with a metal-tipped slip trailer, wrapping the piece in pattern that is both tactile and beautiful.

The dessert plate is glaze fired to cone 6 in an electric kiln. Glazes are lead free and food safe. It is dishwasher safe but I always suggest hand-washing to protect delicate edges.

This plate measures 7 inches wide by 1.5 inches tall.
